Amboy, Washington is a quiet rural setting about 12 miles north of Battle Ground, Washington. This beautiful section of Clark County is not for those seeking the conveniences of other densely populated areas of Clark County. Amboy offers a peaceful solitude that puts one a bit closer to nature and a slower pace of life.

The Church of the Nazarene is a Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, tracing its roots to an anniversary date of 1908. It was founded to spread the message of scriptural holiness (Christlike living) across the lands. Today the Church of the Nazarene is located in 155 world areas.

The Church of the Nazarene is a Great Commission church. We believe that God offers to everyone forgiveness, peace, joy, purpose, love, meaning in life, and the promise of heaven when life is over by entering and experiencing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We are called to take this message to people everywhere.

The Church of the Nazarene is also a holiness church. We believe that Christians can experience a deeper level of life in which there is victory over sin, power to witness and serve, and a richer fellowship with God, all through the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Jim Moreton

Pastor Jim and his wife Eileen have 4 children (three daughters, one son) and 2 grandchildren. They are Canadians who adopted the USA in 2001 with a transfer from the Canada Pacific District.

 

Both pastor Jim and Eileen ride motorcycles and the church sponsors a "Teddy Bear Ride" the first Sunday in August of each year to benefit the Pregnancy care centers in Vancouver and Battle Ground.

Teddy Bear Ride 2010

Our third annual ride was a great success and a special thank you to the band "Truth Be Told" as they rocked the place with their music. Everyone enjoyed the bbq and Options 360 got a trunk load of teddies and diapers and baby clothes.

In 2011 it will be held on August 7th so mark your calendars for another great ride.
